Ottawa Redblacks defensive end Lorenzo Mauldin IV, who was included in TSN\u0027s Top 50 CFL Players list, has big plans for 2023 season.
Said Acklin: “What really matters is when you go out and play, are you a dog or are you shy? Wins are the most important thing. If you could take all of us off the list and we could win 18 games, then win the Grey Cup, we’d much rather have that.”
“It’s eye opening,” said Mauldin. “It’s definitely a blessing to be ranked so high in the Top 50. But I didn’t do it by myself. A lot of my teammates helped me. It’s No. 7 , now let’s see if I can get to No. 1.”Article content “I said last year if I could give up some of my sacks for W’s, I’d do that,” he said. “It’s not a one-man sport, it’s a team sport. We work together for one goal — to win.”
Mauldin admitted he was banged up last season, with a lot of nagging injuries. But he said after an off-season full of “eating, sleeping, training and being a dad and husband,” he’s good to go.Article content
