'Brandeis University A private university in Massachusetts has become the first educational institution to ban its campus chapter of National Students for Justice in Palestine .
“Brandeis will no longer recognize its local chapter of the National Students for Justice in Palestine because it openly supports Hamas, a terrorist organization,” the university told TND. “SJP has called on its chapters to engage in conduct that supports Hamas in its call for the elimination of the only Jewish state in the world and its people. Such expression is not protected by Brandeis' principles of free speech.
The decision follows an op-ed in the Boston Globe by university president Ronald Liebowitz, who shared his opinion that schools should not permit antisemitism.
