CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Mary Jeanette Gallant is making her way to the Edward Whelan Irish Cultural Centre for a lecture on the Glenaladale Estate on Nov.
Gallant will tell the estate's story, which starts with the Mi’kmaq and continues in 1772 when Scottish Catholic settlers arrived on what is now P.E.I.
The trip was made by Capt. John MacDonald and led to the establishment of a large settlement of Irish immigrants forming by 1790-91.
