Marvel has officially revealed the one MCU hero who can stand up to the Hulk’s strength. A new threat has awakened, one that is sending the monsters of the Marvel Universe after the Hulk. Bruce’s search for answers takes him to the Florida Everglades and the Nexus of All Realities. There, fans meet the one shock MCU hero that the Hulk’s immense strength does not affect.

The Incredible Hulk #5 is written by Phillip Kennedy Johnson and drawn by Travel Foreman. In the previous issue, the Man-Thing pulled Hulk into the Nexus of All Realities, asking for his help in stopping the foe they now face. The Hulk is not interested, and tells Ted Sallis, the human inside the Man-Thing, to send him back. Sallis refuses, provoking the Hulk’s anger. The Hulk then grabs Sallis, ripping him in half.

Man-Thing Is an Unlikely Marvel Hero The preview ends there, leaving readers to wonder if the Hulk will help Man-Thing, yet it makes clear he can withstand whatever the Jade Giant can throw at him. First appearing over 50 years ago, Man-Thing lumbers through the Florida Everglades, protecting the Nexus of All Realities from all manners of villains. Man-Thing is a cult favorite, and made the leap into the MCU in last year’s Werewolf by Night special airing on Disney +.

The Man-Thing May Be One of Marvel's Strongest Characters The preview shows the true extent of Man-Thing’s powers. Outside the Nexus, Man-Thing has super-strength and durability, as well as empathic abilities. These empathic powers can create chemical reactions and if the emotion is strong enough, it can kill whoever crosses his path. Inside the Nexus, Man-Thing is nearly a god. His human self is able to assert itself inside the Nexus, something that cannot be done in our reality.
