Members of the electronic music community like Bassnectar, Kayzo, and Diplo are speaking out about the death of GeorgeFloyd.

While the dance world is often criticized for being one of the least politically involved musical genres, electronic producers from all genres have spoken out on social media in response to the death of George Floyd. The United States has erupted into nationwide protests after George Floyd, a black man, was allegedly killed by suffocation when a Minnesota police officer kneeled on his neck. The incident has sparked nationwide protests since a video of the event surfaced on the internet on Monday, May 24. DJs and producers are among the tens of thousands of people who have taken to the streets in protest, with artists including Alison Wonderland, Kayzo, Saymyname, Diplo and more participating in events.

Many artists have also donated many to Black Lives Matter-related causes, with both Marshmello and The Chainsmokers donating $50,000 to various organizations, and Bassnectar donating $100,000 to causes including to groups including Black Lives Matter, Color Of Change, Campaign Zero, The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, & Media Justice.Racism - The visible enemy
