will release their own version of a throwback Thursday moment. The Italian fashion and design house is launching its annual Marni Market collection on May 9, though this time it’s called Marni Gaming Market. The new lineup of hand-woven basket bags, flower-shaped coffee tables, chairs and magazine racks, among other items, will be available for purchase through interactive pixelated moving illustrations that are based off of classic video games from the 1980s.
Rule-breaking and playfulness are the two pillars of the Marni brand, and Marni Market—which has evolved into a cult-favorite traveling pop-up space and online shopping experience over the last several years—plays a role in upholding those ideals. With this latest iteration, the brand hopes to expand on their quirk-filled universe, noting that, “each product fully expresses the essence of the brand and its multifaceted spirit through materials, colors, and curious shapes.
