Garrett Hampson drove in two runs and scored another as the visiting Miami Marlins completed a sweep of their doubleheader with a 3-2 victory over the Cleveland Guardians on Saturday.
Hampson ripped an RBI double in the fourth inning, added a run-scoring single in the sixth and came around to score on Garrett Cooper's sacrifice fly.
Jon Berti doubled to center field off Zach Plesac to lead off the sixth inning before advancing to third on Nick Fortes' bunt single. Berti came home on Hampson's single to give Miami a 2-1 lead, with the hit forcing Plesac from the game. Kwan trimmed the Marlins' lead to 3-2 in the seventh inning with an RBI single to left field off Tanner Scott. Dylan Floro relieved Scott and induced inning-ending double plays in the seventh and eighth.Plesac was saddled with the loss after permitting three runs on 10 hits in five-plus innings.
