High temperatures in the Inland Empire are expected to persist through the rest of the week before the area cools slightly next week, forecasters said Wednesday.
Highs in Riverside and Ontario will remain around 95 degrees from Thursday through Sunday. San Bernardino will be slightly hotter reaching about 98 to 99 degrees during that same period. Western Riverside County and southwest San Bernardino County are expected to have an excessive heat warning on Thursday and Friday, when temperatures in the lower desert like the Coachella Valley could reach between 113 to 116 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
