Fox News medical contributor and NYU Langone internal medicine specialist Dr. Marc Siegel appeared on 'Fox & Friends' on Monday to share his perspective on the recent Marburg virus outbreaks.
Fox News medical contributor Dr. Marc Siegel on the Marburg virus and why he is not concerned of this becoming a pandemicin the African countries of Equatorial Guinea and Tanzania, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released an alert last week for U.S. doctors to keep an eye out for any potential cases.
The Marburg virus is spread by the Egyptian fruit bat, which is found in both Equatorial Guinea and Tanzania, per the CDC. Symptoms of Marburg include nausea, vomiting, sore throat, chest pain, abdominal pain and diarrhea, the CDC stated.
