Toronto-based gold company Marathon Gold on Wednesday announced the appointment of Gil Lawson as COO, with effect from October 1, succeeding Tim Williams, who is returning to his native Australia for family reasons. Lawson is an experienced mining professional, who most recently served as interim general manager at the Tasiast mine, in Mauritania, for Kinross Gold. Prior to that, he was COO of TMAC Resources.
