The Maple Leafs will be joined by Owen Power and Sean Monahan, among others, in the game to raise funds for the William Osler Health System.
“I’m thrilled to be participating in Mayor Brown’s charity hockey game in Brampton benefiting a second hospital,” Tavares said in a video posted to hockeynightbrampton.ca. “Having kids of my own puts health care into perspective and how important it is to have access to it when needed. I’m really thankful and fortunate to be able to help give back and help raise funds to provide more access to health care.
“I have a lot of memories growing up playing hockey in Brampton, specifically when I was in junior hockey in the OHL, coming in to play the Battalion because it was so close to home and where I grew up in Oakville,” Tavares said. “Really good memories.”Article content Retired NHLers Jeremy Roenick, Cody Hodgson and Raffi Torres also are slated to lace up their skates.
Gilmour and Clark will be available for autographs before the game. A silent auction and activities for kids, including airbrush tattoos and face painting, will be part of the pre-game festivities.
