Coach Sheldon Keefe explains the method to his actions for Toronto’s do-or-die game tonight.
The biggest change is on the blue line. Here are the pairings and an explanation why from the coach.“Just looking to change the group up a little bit,” Keefe said. “Get Brodie on the on the left side and see if that can help us. He and McCabe hasn’t gone the way that we’d like it to, throughout both series, frankly. And so just trying to change the chemistry of the group a little bit there.
“We have lots of flexibility within our defence to try different things. Brodie and Holl have played quite a lot together throughout the season at different times and have done a really good job.”“Rielly-Schenn have been really good for us, so we want to maintain that,” Keefe said.Said Keefe: “So we’ve fallen on McCabe and Liljegren. With Giordano’s presence there as well, it gives us a lot of options to be able to try different things. The timing is right to change it up.
