Francis is in the running for the year’s best female vocalist, best new artist or group, bassist of the year, and best recording/producer — a nomination she shares with her father, Kiran Francis. The father-and-daughter team co-produced her second album, Long River, in their home studio in Kanata. Another Ottawa-area musician, Lyle Odjick, is a first-time nominee.
