More than 30 states allow teachers to carry guns under certain conditions.

Tennessee became the latest state to allow teachers to carry firearms inside K-12 public schools after lawmakers vowed action in the wake of a deadly school shooting in Nashville last year.Aidan Hale, a former student, entered the Covenant School on March 27, 2023, and killed three nine-year-old children and three adults before police shot the 28-year-old dead. There have been at least 15 school shootings in the United States since then where one or more people were injured.
