The death toll from the bus crash near Carberry, Man. last week has now climbed to 16.
Manitoba RCMP announced on Wednesday that a woman who had been in hospital since the crash on June 15, died on Tuesday from her injuries.Shared Health said in an emailed statement that nine people remain in hospital, four of which are receiving critical care.
"Shared Health and Prairie Mountain Health would like to express our condolences to the family and friends of the patient involved in the collision who succumbed to her injuries yesterday," a spokesperson said in the email. The crash happened on the Trans-Canada Highway as a bus was carrying a group of seniors from Dauphin and the surrounding area to a casino. The bus went into the path of a semi-trailer and was struck.
