“However, on May 12th, George and I bring her out to the living room or backyard with us, with a picture and a candle. She stays on my bedside table. It’s always a difficult day because it is too hard and sad to think about the horror she suffered, so we find ourselves distracting with other conversation, so to avoid thinking about it.”
In their old Junction neighbourhood, there are still murals and park benches in the 10-year-old’s memory.
