Developing: Man taken to hospital after shooting involving Toronto police officer
A man has life-threatening injuries after he was shot by a Toronto police officer following reports that he was brandishing a knife at a park in North York.
It happened in the Black Creek Drive and Todd Baylis Boulevard area at around 8 a.m. on Monday. Paramedics confirmed that they’ve taken a man with life-threatening injuries to hospital. A tweet by Toronto police in the same thread indicated the initial call was for a person with a knife who was “threatening people in the park.”The Special Investigations Unit, Ontario’s police watchdog, has invoked a mandate.
