Court heard police were first called to the family home because Valladares had threatened self-harm. When they returned later that night, he led police on a wild pursuit that ended in City Park, where he slammed on his breaks and backed into a police car. Defence lawyer Daniel Katzman said Valladares, who has no prior criminal record, has been doing well on supervision in the community. He is seeing a psychiatrist and counsellor and has been abiding by a curfew while living with his parents, court heard.
