“It is still very early in the investigation, but this appears to be a targeted shooting. No arrests have been made,” the police statement read.

In a prepared statement, Vancouver police said they were called to the area of West 4th Avenue and Burrard Street at 8:30 p.m. and found the victim dead at the scene. Traffic is restricted on Burrard Street between West 4th and West 5th avenues and drivers are asked to avoid the area. Anyone who may have witnessed the shooting, or has information about the incident, is asked to call the VPD’s major crime section at 604-717-2500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
