The Johnson County Sheriff's Office investigated an early-morning shooting Saturday that left one man dead.A 50-year-old man was shot to death in the front lawn of a home near Cleburne early Saturday.
Johnson County sheriff’s deputies were called to the home in the 5900 block of County Road 308, southeast of Cleburne, about 5 a.m. and found the victim outside. First responders attempted life-saving treatment on the man, identified by the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office as Darrell Lee Childers, but he died there.
Authorities said investigators believe the shooting stemmed from a birthday party that took place Friday night. According to the sheriff’s office, the victim left the party upset but returned with a gun and was shot multiple times. No arrests have been announced in the case, and the investigation is ongoing.
