Including this latest death, 18 incarcerated individuals have died in Dauphin County Prison since 2019.

The discovery prompted prison staff to call a medical emergency, the release said. Staff and medical personnel attempted to resuscitate him until local EMTs arrived at the cell at 10:54 a.m.Enck was pronounced dead at 11:12 a.m. The family has been notified. Enck had been in Dauphin County Prison since Aug. 17, 2022, when he was booked on charges of aggravated assault. His competency hearing had been scheduled for Wednesday.
Following county policy, the incident will be investigated by Dauphin County Prison administration, the Dauphin County Criminal Investigation Division, and the Dauphin County coroner.
