Connie Whittaker and Josh Rioux witnessed a man in camouflage aiming a rifle at a police officer parked on the side of the road near Pebblestone Road and Highway 11/17 in Thunder Bay. The police officer retreated to his cruiser and waited for backup. The suspect was transported to the hospital with serious injuries and later charged with attempted murder, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of a firearm contrary to an order.
