Ontario Provincial Police in Lanark County say a 22-year-old man was killed in a head-on crash on Highway 7 between Perth and Sharbot Lake on Wednesday. Ontario Provincial Police say a 22-year-old man from Ashton was killed Wednesday afternoon when his car crossed into oncoming traffic on Highway 7 and collided with an oncoming tractor-trailer.
In a news release, police said emergency crews were called to the highway near Old Brooke Road in Tay Valley Township around 1:30 p.m. The unnamed victim was alone in his car and pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The truck driver was not seriously injured. OPP said they're still investigating the crash, which happened about 15 kilometres west of Perth and 85 kilometres southwest of downtown Ottawa.
