Police said the incident happened on Friday afternoon after the solo driver of a pickup truck drove off the roadway.

A 62-year-old man is dead after driving into a ditch in the township of Brock, north of Durham region.

Officers from the Durham police north division were dispatched to Lakeridge Road near Beach Road at around 5:46 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found a black 2003 Ford pickup truck in a ditch. Police said the driver had driven off the roadway resulting in the single-vehicle collision. The lone occupant of the car, a 62-year-old man, was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
