A search is underway for a man who impersonated a San Antonio police officer before forcing entry into someone’s home, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident happened Saturday when Salvatore Alfieri IV, 38, went to a home wearing police insignia while armed with a handgun, according to deputies.

He told the residents that he was an SAPD officer that worked for “probation” and needed to search the home for “contraband.” Alfieri forced the residents to comply and he took their cellphones before leaving the scene in a Ford Escape, according to the BCSO.If captured, Alfieri will face a string of charges, which include impersonating a public servant, burglary of habitation with intent to commit felony, two counts of unlawful restraint and two counts of interference of emergency request for assistance.
