BREAKING UPDATE: A man has died after being stabbed at the BART plaza above the 24th StreetMission station in San Francisco, BART police said Sunday afternoon.
BART officials say surveillance videos from 1:40 p.m. showed two adult men arguing near the elevator at the street level of the plaza above the 24th Street Mission station. The say one man stabbed the other near the station elevator. The stabbing victim then walked down the stairs into the station and subsequently collapsed on the platform, according to BART.
BART officials say despite attempt to aid the victim, he died from his injuries. The victims has not been identified. Officials say the suspect fled the area. BART police are working with the San Francisco Police Department and other law enforcement agencies to identify and apprehend the suspect. BART first tweeted at 1:53 p.m. that trains will not stop at 24th Street Mission station due to a police activity.MUNI is providing mutual aid between 16th Street and 24th Street stations, and Glen Park stations on buses 14, 14R and 49.The video in the media player above is not related to the current story.
