McManus said the officers approached the man, whom police did not immediately identify, to execute warrants for his arrest related to assault on a police officer and felon in possession of a firearm. At some point, McManus said, the man began to pull a handgun from his waistband, the chief said. All three officers fired, he said, though he said he could not provide details of the exchange since he had reviewed body camera footage.
