About 12:30 a.m. Friday, García said a person in the 9500 block of Briggs Street called 911 to report a man covered in blood had knocked on their door. Less than two hours later, a shoe and a blood trail led Sr. Cpl. Body-worn camera footage shows Figor run on top of Casillas, who was laying on the ground, holding a gun. A shot rings out, striking Figor in the chest. Jay, who the chief said was struck in the leg and ballistic vest, then walks Figor outside of the wooded area while screaming, “My partner’s hit,” the video shows. Once outside, he ties Figor to a tree “for his, and other officers’ safety” as Jay is escorted onto a set of stairs where a tourniquet is applied to his leg, police said.
