Peel police investigate death of a 32-year-old man after a shooting in Mississauga

Peel regional police say a 32-year-old man is dead after a shooting in Mississauga, Ont., on Monday morning.

Officers were called to Dundas Street East and Cawthra Road around 11:20 a.m. and found one man who had been injured.Story continues below advertisement Police say the incident took place in the parking lot of a gym and a suspect was seen fleeing from the area. Police blocked off nearby intersections on Tomken Road, where a burned vehicle was located a short distance from the shooting.

“We believe that that scene is associated to our initial scene,” Wright said. “How the vehicle was burned or lit, we don’t have that information.”Two daycare centres and some local schools were placed in hold and secure, but that was later lifted.
