WEST BOUNTIFUL, Utah —West Bountiful Police Chief Brandon Erekson told 2News that dispatched received a call from a woman at 5 a.m. on Nov. 3, 2023 who reported that she had just witnessed a shooting in the parking lot of the Lowe's Home Improvement store located at 350 North 545 West.
Officers responded to the area and located a 50-year-old man with several gunshot wounds. They initiated life-saving efforts but the man eventually succumbed to his injuries on the scene.Chief Erekson confirmed that the suspect was identified as Jake Jackson of Salt Lake County who was seen driving a 2014 grey Chevy Silverado.
Police said that there is a known connection between the woman who called dispatch, the gunshot victim and Jackson, though they did not provide further details.Authorities spiked Jackson's tires and brought his vehicle to a halt on Highway 191. The road was shut down in both directions at milepost 114, six miles south of Moab, while Jackson was being barricaded.---------------
