The CRA says Bayden claimed more than $34 million in false charitable donations on individual income tax returns for the 2004 to 2006 tax years that he prepared for more than 30 of his clients. The CRA says Bayden fled the country before he could be prosecuted, but later returned to Canada in June 2023.
The CRA says Bayden charged his clients approximately 10 per cent of the face value of the false, claimed charitable donation amounts.
