The man police say shot five people inside a bar in Tacoma early Sunday morning is scheduled to appear in Pierce County court Tuesday afternoon.

Tacoma police said the suspect, Alante Peterson, turned himself into authorities Sunday afternoon.
One of the gunshot victims died at the scene. Three others were taken to local hospitals with serious injuries. During the investigation, officers learned a fifth person was injured in the shooting, but investigators said that people did not have life-threatening injuries. The TPD later confirmed a second person who was shot died from their injuries.
“We’re tired of trying to have — trying to cope in this dark world by having a fun night out and having to worry about a gun getting pulled because somebody had it when they shouldn’t have been able to have it," Carlie Lubbes Meyer said.
