THUNDER BAY — A 24-year-old man faces multiple charges after allegedly spitting in the face of paramedics who were trying to provide medical help.
Thunder Bay police said officers were called to the area of Simpson and George streets on Sunday night after receiving reports that a person was attacking responding paramedics.One of the responding officers was then attacked by the suspect during an attempt to help the paramedics. The suspect then spat in the face and eye of one of the paramedics, before continuing to be combative and damaging equipment in the ambulance.
The accused is charged with two counts of assaulting a peace officer, mischief under $5,000, and failure to comply with an undertaking. He has been released with conditions and a future court date.
