A man was arrested after Durham police say he breached conditions while docking his boat on Lake Ontario, off Oshawa’s Lakeview Park.
The Marine Unit happened upon the boat while patrolling the waters around 3:45 p.m. Friday. They say no one was on the boat at the time. They say the owner was living on the boat and would allegedly head to and from shore on a smaller vessel. Police say he was breaching court-ordered conditions to “remain away from any public swimming areas, or areas where persons under the age of 16 years are present.”
The man, 44, from Hamilton, was taken into custody and charged with operating a pleasure craft without prescribed competency, failing to transfer a license and failure to comply with a release order.On Friday, July 12, 2024, members of the DRPS Marine Unit arrested a male who was breaching court conditions to remain away from any public swimming areas, or areas where persons under the age of 16 years are present.
