Police say a Bexar County constable found the explosive device while performing an eviction.

Colton Lane Perkins, 33, was arrested on suspicion of possession of an explosive weapon and possession of components for an explosive weapon.A man was arrested Wednesday after police said they found a homemade bomb, firearm and ammunition at his far east Bexar County apartment.

Colton Lane Perkins, 33, was arrested on suspicion of possession of an explosive weapon and possession of components for an explosive weapon. He is being held on a $100,000 bail for the two charges.On June 5, a Bexar County constable was evicting Perkins from his residence in the 5300 block of Mt. Olive Road, according to an affidavit supporting Perkins’ arrest. At the home, a prospective resident told the constable that there was a device in a closet.

The next day, the Bexar County Fire Marshal’s Office found multiple bomb-making materials, the affidavit said. The suspected homemade explosive was made of a cardboard roll covered with black tape and exposed wires, with black powder and ball bearings inside.
