A man and his three-year-old daughter have died after they were struck by a car in Pickering, Ont., following a carjacking. Police say the man was rear-ended and when he stopped to check for damage, the passenger in the other vehicle approached with a handgun and demanded his keys.

The man pulled over and was checking his vehicle for damage when the passenger in the other vehicle approached with a handgun and demanded the keys, police say. The suspect got into the victim’s vehicle and fled westbound on Taunton along with the vehicle that caused the collision.The suspect vehicle is described as a dark SUV with no front license plate.
The person who pointed the gun at the victim and stole his car is described by police as a Black man standing five-foot-nine with a slim build. They say he was wearing a baseball cap, medical mask, puffer jacket, cargo pants and shoes.
