RCMP responded to a crash between a moose and a vehicle on the Trans-Canada Highway near Avondale on Aug. 19. - File2023 Gold Cup Parade in Charlottetown, part of Old Home Week | SaltWireHOLYROOD, N.L. — A man is dead after a collision between a moose and a vehicle on the Trans-Canada Highway near Avondale on Aug. 19.
RCMP responded to the crash scene at around 8 p.m. Police said the man was one of four people inside the vehicle that hit a moose crossing the highway near Middle Gull Pond.Police said the others suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
