The mother of a York man murdered by his partner says she wants to raise awareness of the issue.
Jose Linnane is working with North Yorkshire Police to raise awareness of male domestic abuse
"I noticed a couple of marks on his face. In my stomach it didn't feel right, but he brushed it off."Mrs Linnane added: "If my daughter had been getting umpteen phone calls, I would've said, 'that's not right'. Her group of girlfriends would say the same.Image caption, Insp Clare Crossan, from the force, said: "We should never assume it's just a female that can be a victim at the hands of a male.
"If you're concerned about a member of your family or a friend, please don't take it as read they're okay. Have that conversation with them and don't just be a bystander," she added.
