The main road remains closed off this morning
has been closed in both directions following a crash.
Atherleigh Way is currently shut between the A572 St. Helens Road and A580 East Lancashire Road, according to Transport for Greater Manchester. The road is fully blocked both ways. According to traffic alert service Inrix, the road has been closed since the early hours of this morning. A tweet posted by TfGM said: "A579 Atherleigh Way, Leigh. Road closure in both directions between A572 St. Helens Road and A580 East Lancashire Road. "This is due to a road traffic collision.
