Counts against Cody Stovin stem from seizure of 800 grams of suspected fentanyl in spring 2022
Cody Allen Alexander Stovin, born in 1984, has been charge with five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possessing a firearm without a licence or registration, according to court records.
The charges stem from an April 2022 seizure. At the time, RCMP said roughly 800 grams of suspected fentanyl was seized when search warrants were executed on a 2000-block Pine Street home and a 1700-block 17th Avenue apartment building. The amount was enough to produce 8,700 doses of the opioid and carrying a street value of $391,000, police said.
Smaller amounts of suspected cocaine and methamphetamine as well as a firearm were also uncovered, RCMP said. Stovin was described as "well known to police" and, according to court records, also stands accused of three drug related counts from an October 2020 incident which is scheduled for trial this September.
