The good news, for people who subscribe to E-Z Pass, the changes coming to the way the Ohio Turnpike collects tolls is going to become much more efficient and save you time.
The Ohio Turnpike is modernizing lanes for E-Z Pass drivers who will no longer have to slow down to pay tolls. For non-E-Z Pass users, there will be lanes to pay with cash or credit cards, without toll workers. Changes will be rolled out over the next couple of weeks.CLEVELAND, Ohio -
The Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission is rolling out a much more automated system for drivers traveling the 241-miles of I-90, I-80 and I-76 from east to west. If that driver doesn’t go online and pay the toll within 25 days, an invoice will be mailed to the driver with an additional $5 added per toll.
There will still be toll booths, minus workers, with a machine to take cash or credit cards for drivers without E-Z pass.
