Intersection paving is complete at Red River Road and Court Street
THUNDER BAY — A main intersection in the city's north downtown core is set to reopen after being closed for the last several weeks due to ongoing construction activity.
"Next year, this intersection will look just like the Park Street intersection along with these crosswalks; it'll be a paving stone detail. We did this this year in order to allow the trucks to move through next year and not destroy the the new surface," Newman said on Thursday."So just getting all this done to this point, it's been almost miraculous, but these traffic signals will change next year.
Newman also noted that there will be a top coat of asphalt for the small sections of Court Street between Red River Road and Park Street, as well as on the north side of the intersection by the parking garage. With the work that's been completed this year, it sets the project up well for the next phase in 2024.
