The decisive swing came after Bassitt froze Machado with a two-strike pitch that appeared to be in the zone for an inning-ending strikeout, but the right-hander didn't get the call.
"It's part of the game," Bassitt said."It's OK that he missed it. I've just got to make a much better pitch the pitch after that. That was a terrible pitch."
