Two accused teenagers to remain in custody for at least two more weeks | SaltWire #newsupdate #newsBRIDGEWATER, N.S. — A 45-year-old Lunenburg County man has been arrested and is facing 10 charges including theft, assault and dangerous driving after allegedly failing to stop for police twice in as many days.
The first incident occurred around 3:15 p.m. on April 24 after police spotted a black Volkswagen, matching the description of a vehicle involved in a theft that had occurred earlier, parked on Highway 325 in Blockhouse.Several officers attempted to approach the vehicle, but it quickly fled, side-swiping a parked vehicle on the road.
While officers did not pursue the vehicle out of concern for public safety, they were able to identify the driver.At about 10 a.m. on April 25, Bridgewater Police Service attempted a traffic stop on the same vehicle driven by the same man, who again refused to stop for police. Later that day, police found the vehicle abandoned in a Walden rural area and police dogs tracked the driver and a female passenger who were arrested without further incident.Two counts of dangerous driving;Dixon was held in custody and appeared in Bridgewater court on April 29.Bookmark our website and support our journalism:
