Trial dates were set this week, when he appeared in court by video link from jail.Ward was released from jail this April after serving a sentence for sexually abusing a girl.
He had also been charged with violating the prohibition in May, when a Pictou provincial court judge released him on conditions that included a further ban on using the internet or possessing any devices capable of accessing the internet. On Oct. 20, as part of a separate investigation relating to a breach of conditions involving the internet, members of the RCMP’s provincial internet child exploitation unit executed a search warrant at Ward’s motel, arrested him and allegedly seized computers, tablets, phones, other electronic devices and documents.
