The mayor, 69, says she’s “feeling fine and will continue to work from home and follow public health guidelines.”
The mayor’s office noted that Bass is vaccinated and boosted. Her spokesperson, Zach Seidl, said this is the first time Bass has tested positive for the coronavirus.
Bass had been scheduled to speak at the Lotus Festival in Echo Park, celebrating the Asian American and Pacific Islander community, on Thursday morning. She also had plans to attend a dinner for scholarship recipients in Pico Union in the evening.Seidl said Bass still intends to participate virtually in a housing forum hosted by the BizFed Institute and Milken Institute on Friday. The forum had already been planned as a virtual event.
