The comment was threatening toward a member of the public, the City Attorney’s office said.
“See you post Election Day in my post when Rex wins,” Montgomery wrote in a now-deleted Nov. 5 comment. “Keep your comments chill bc I’ve heard that you folks are going on a list. Xoxo.”
The remaining Equity and Human Rights commissioners opted for the first option on earlier this month and voted to issue Montgomery a censure. The censure is largely a public acknowledgement of wrongdoing — and Montgomery will not face any other consequences. The commission will also discuss a “restorative justice process” for Montgomery during its Jan. 11 meeting, though it’s unclear what that process would entail.“I do first want to recognize the impact that my remarks have had on fellow commissioners and community members,” she said. “I met that moment with not the best choice of words and I am fully open to a restorative process, including professional coaching.
