The championship final is slated for Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m., at Bob Van Impe Stadium.Saskatoon’s Berkly Catton and Roger McQueen are among Team Canada’s leading scorers at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup world under-18 hockey championship in Slovakia.Catton, with five goals, and McQueen, with four goals, were Canada’s top goal-scorers in the preliminary round. Catton, a former Saskatoon Contact who plays for the Western Hockey League’s Spokane Chiefs, is Canada’s team captain.
Saskatoon Holy Cross products Sara Gray and Sophia Magus are playing for Canada’s national squad in the championship, which runs until next Friday, Aug. 11. Gray was also a member of U19 Team Canada at the 2022 Canada Cup.
