PUBLISHED 12:40 PM CST Feb. 11, 2023AUSTIN, Texas — Super Bowl weekend is here and local restaurant owners are thrilled to take advantage of the business they’re due to receive from football fans. “It’s definitely something we have to think long and hard about for quite a while and prepare for,” Brown said.
“We count on every single day. It’s definitely hard to work with variable incomes day-to-day,” Brown said. “I definitely foresee it being a financially and personally successful for all of our staff.” Texas Restaurant Association President & CEO, Emily Knight Williams says the service industry has been hurt by inflation, labor and supply issues in addition to recent weather concerns.
According to the TRA, more than 14 million Americans will spend time at bars and restaurants this weekend, a huge opportunity for the 35,000 establishments across Texas.
