Sudbury Performance Group seeking more diversity in its board
Sudbury Performance Group is looking for new board members…and you might be just the person they are looking for!
Sudbury Performance Group is Greater Sudbury’s diverse performance arts company. Founded in 2017, SPG is a registered charitable organization that focuses on three pillars of performance arts: stand-up comedy, live music, and live theatre. “We are looking for new board members who will better represent our community as a whole,” said Mannisto. “We want to have a good mix of people with business acumen and people who understand the arts side of things. The time commitment is one meeting a month, and the term is a three-year term.”
Mannisto explained that usually the executive committee will bring ideas to the board, and it’s up to the board to decide if that new idea will be sustainable for SPG, if it will work in the community, if it makes sense or is possible to take it on. “Our new board members will be part of that process, that’s why we want them to better reflect the community we live in, so they can help map out the direction of SPG for the future,” he said.
